Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that uses gifts of human hair to make wigs for children with a balding condition. Some of the reasons for baldness are chemotherapy, burn victims, and radiation. The most common cause is an auto immune deficiency disease called alopecia areata. More than 4.7 million people in the United States are affected. Two million of these cases are children.

Most children are teased by other kids or asked if they are sick. This can cause a self-esteem issue. These kids often become withdrawn, and sometimes do not participate in childhood activities.

Locks of Love furnishes wigs for these children. The wigs are hand-made in Indonesia from hair donations. Men, women, and children can donate hair. Most hair donators are children. It is a wonderful way for children to give back to other children.

This is the criteria for donating your hair:

	Hair must be 10 inches or more
	It must be clean, braided or held together with a rubber band
	It may be colored or permed, but cannot be damaged
	Grey hair is not accepted
	Place ponytail in a plastic baggie and mail to Locks of Love,
